  • 225g Self-Raising Flour
  • 0.5tsp Salt
  • 8ml Baking powder
  • 60g Flora Gold
  • 250g Grated cheddar cheese
  • 100ml Milk
  • 1Jumbo egg, beaten (plus extra for gazing)
  • Spread:
  • 125g Flora Gold
  • 10ml Hot English mustard powder
  • 60ml Finely chopped Chives
  • 5ml Finely chopped Rosemary, Thyme and Sage


for cheese scones with herb spread

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C
  2. Sift dry ingredients together, and then rub in Flora Gold. Add cheese
  3. Whisk milk and egg together, then mix into dry ingredients using a cutting action
  4. Shape dough into a 3cm-thick disc and cut out scones
  5. Place scones on a greased baking tray, glaze with beaten egg
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes
  7. Mix herby spread ingredients together until well combined and spread generously over scones
  8. Serve warm
