THE WONDER OF SUNFLOWERS

Sunflower oil is extracted from sunflowers seeds and is a major component of Flora Margarine, and for a very good reason. Full of good fats, essential vitamins and minerals as well as natural source of linoleic acid (commonly known as Omega 6), sunflower seeds are renowned for being one of the world’s healthiest seeds.

Keep reading to find out more about why sunflower oil is so good for you and where one of Flora’s key ingredients comes from.

From the Ground Up

To make sure our sunflower seeds are of the highest quality we sustainably grow and farm them locally.

Once fully grown, the sunflower heads are dried out naturally before cold pressing them. To lock all the goodness each sunflower seed holds into a beautiful, light amber oil for Flora margarine.

The Good Stuff

Sunflower oil is home to one key ingredient that can make a real impact on the health of your heart. Omega 6! Omega 6 is an essential fat that the body cannot produce, which is why it’s so important for it to be included in your daily diet.

Its benefits include: reducing high blood pressure, helping cells grow – making it essential for muscle and brain development, and keeping our bodies healthy.

A High Achiever

Another one of sunflower oil’s tremendous traits is its ability to cook at very high temperatures and can be used for frying and roasting. It also has a very neutral taste that makes mixing or blending it with other flavours incredibly easy. Test it out by mixing up a tasty dressing with Flora, balsamic vinegar and a little bit of mustard.
