Why vitamins are important for your body

To ensure a healthy heart, body and low cholesterol levels, an adequate amount of vitamins should be included in your daily diet.

In order to optimise your health, it is important to understand the role that vitamins play within your body.

There are two types of vitamins.

Vitamins are naturally occurring, essential nutrients that your body needs in order to work properly. The human body absorbs the vitamins that it needs in small amounts. There are two types of vitamins which can be found in a wide range of foods:

1. Fat-soluble vitamins: these are found in foods such as vegetable oils and spreads/margarines, dairy products, meat, liver and oily fish.

2. Water-soluble vitamins: these vitamins aren't stored in the body and are found in fruit, vegetables and grains.

Ensure that you eat a variety of vitamin-rich foods that will optimise your health and care for your body. If you’re strapped for time, use a delicious and healthy fat spread that is packed with nutrients.
A generous dollop of Flora Olive will ensure that you receive all of the necessary vitamins for a balanced diet.
